Protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid
Social Security was formed to address the permanent problem of economic security for the elderly in 1935 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. It’s a work-related, contributory system in which workers secure the own economic future through taxes paid while employed. Despite this fact, many Republicans consider Social Security ‘welfare’ program.
The economic conditions that forced elderly Americans out of their homes and into cardboard cities must not be allowed to happen again. We must protects Social Security and made any necessary reforms to guarantee its solvency for future generations.
Medicare and Medicaid are promises we’ve made as a civilized society to support our most vulnerable neighbors.
